Last Brigade Day

We are writing again from the bus on our way to the last brigade day.

Yesterday was a great success for all three brigade groups. The medical group continued their work in La Ceiba and each day the clinics run even more efficiently with approximately 300 patients through. The dentists are continuing to provide extractions and creating lots of new smiles with their ability to do fillings. The physicians have treated a number of community members, many with very preventable illness as a product of poor living conditions and lack of access to health care. The medical/dental group will hold their final clinic today.

The public health and water teams very successfully finished their construction yesterday. Today they will carry on with education in the local schools to teach about the importance of hygiene and water. Both groups have prepared great lessons and the water group a song to teach to the kids!

The group attended a cultural dancing event last night and had a great time. We look forward to a fiesta tonight and the much anticipated soccer tournament against the Flor Azul boys tomorrow.

Until next time...
